Let's Go
by Lisa Lynne Mathis © 2006
Sleep is not always my friend. 3:00 a.m. can be the hour for profound inner-warfare in my restless mind. To wake up and see The One who was so clearly ordained to be my husband smiling and making me laugh to get my courage up to face the manic day ahead of me … suggests to me new beginnings are possible.
Morning light
I’m alright
But 3:00 a.m. did not look good
Here you are
Smiling back at me
You calm my heart
Only you could
We’ll chase the demons all away
Won’t let them cripple me today
I believe in new beginnings
You, you make my life worth living
We can’t stop these wills from spinning somewhat out of control
But, hey, let’s go
The day is done
My well’s run dry
I’m an empty shell of who I was
You walk in
You fill me up
We laugh out loud
Just because
I’m jammin’ so much in a day
Without your love, there’d be no way
I believe in new beginnings
You, you make my life worth living
We can’t stop these wills from spinning somewhat out of control
But, hey, let’s go
